Title: Cook / Chef
Duration: 16-week contract
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Shift: 12-8:30 pm (Saturday, Sunday, 3 weeknights, and holiday
Required:
Experience cooking in a professional setting
Must have SERV Safe or equivalent safe food handling certification.
Other Skills:
Skill in reading and comprehending standard English text such as departmental policy and procedures, memos, HACCP and JCAHO policies etc.
Skill in speaking and communicating well in English in order to interact with accuracy and ease with both internal and external customers.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, subordinates and/or superiors.
Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
Skill in performing a variety of duties often changing priorities to appropriately handle diverse situations.
Knowledge of University, Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures as outlined by Human Resources.
Knowledge of and adherence to all policies pertaining to sanitation and safety issues as outlined by JCAHO and HACCP standards.
Ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push and pull for prolonged periods of time in hot or cold areas.
Ability to lift, push or pull 50+lbs.
Ability to use strong cleaning solutions.
