Summary:
Performs diversified duties in the Food and Nutritional Services Department such as but not limited to maintaining patient profiles, tallying food items, assembling trays, preparing food items for patients, personnel and visitors, sanitation tasks and other assignments as directed by the Department Manager
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ability to assist with the tray line function for the patients’ meal delivery.
- Delivers and retrieves meal carts from units per standards.
- Operates dish machine properly and safely.
- Keeps work area clean and sanitary using proper cleaning procedures and cleaning supplies.
- Ensure perishables and meat items are covered, dated and labeled and stored as required by policy.
- Assist in stocking supplies once they are delivered.
- Records storage temperatures as required by policy.
- Assists with deliveries, verification of items and storage of products.
- Attends staff meetings; department in-services and education.
Acknowledges receiving the information by signature on the minutes for at least 80% of the meetings.
- Identifies needs for personal professional learning and demonstrates achievement of the learning goals.
- Completes and keeps current all mandatory in-services, modules, competencies, licenses, and annual updates (professional licenses and certifications).
Updates annual health requirements.
- Able to adapt to new conditions or procedures quickly and without resistance as demonstrated by implementation of new/revised policy, used of new equipment/skill responsibility, accepts new or additional duties assigned.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of six months as a Food Service Worker.
- Healthcare experience as a Hospital food service worker (preferred).
Certification/Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent
- Certified in Food Handling in the State of California
