Full time/ Part time Custodian/Maintenance
*Overview of Responsibilities*
* The general responsibility of this position is to ensure those assigned buildings and ground areas are clean and orderly.
* Cleans sinks, urinals, and commodes.
* Sweeps floors and vacuum rugs and carpets.
* Dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork.
* Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
* Washes furniture, walls, and windows.
* Mops, seals, and waxes floors.
* Polishes metalwork.
* Services dispensing machines.
* Sweeps, walks, and picks up debris immediately adjacent to the school facility.
* Cleans Venetian blinds.
* Cleans chalkboards and erasers.
* Assists with graffiti removal.
* Lunch Room/Kitchen Area Duties
* Keep trash cans lined and emptied as necessary
* Sweep waste debris and pick up trash and mop spills immediately
* Completely sweep cafeteria floor for debris and mop entire cafeteria floor with disinfectant
* Remove mats from kitchen and hose down as necessary
* School Grounds/Buildings
* Assist in maintaining a clean school ground; sweep walkway areas necessary
* Assist in keeping the teacher's lounge and staff lounge clean
* Assist in keeping all disposable items replenished as necessary
* Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all restrooms during the school day
* Responsible for removal of cones from the parking lot after main traffic hour
* Responsible for taking down flags and properly folding and storing them
* Responsible for placing sandbags in front of kindergarten rooms during the rainy season
* Maintains equipment and supplies in proper condition
* Reports needed repairs and supplies required by the department
* Assists in moving, arranging, and setting up furniture/equipment for special events and meetings
* Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of a swimming pool by checking temperature, chlorine levels
* Vacuuming
* May make minor repairs to furniture, electrical fixtures, windows and shades, locks, faucets, heating system and other equipment
* May undertake routine maintenance tasks related to building operating systems, i.
e.
; changing filters, etc.
* May perform grounds keeping activities such as cleaning lawns, raking leaves, trimming shrubs, and general grounds maintenance such as clearing litter and debris
* Responsible for other related work as assigned
*Qualifications*
* One Year Experience In Building Maintenance, Grounds keeping Including Sprinkler Systems and Irrigation.
* Familiarity with custodial and cleaning supplies, methods, and equipment
* Ability to train others in the safe and proper operation of tools and equipment
* Ability to carry out oral and written instructions
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to perform heavy physical labor
* Ability to work cooperatively with others
