_Here's what you'll do:_
As a food runner you are responsible for encompassing our goal of providing exceptional customer service while performing a range of tasks and facilitating collaboration between kitchen and wait staff.
* Setting up the front line with small wares, plate ware and equipment needed to effectively serve all food items.
* Collaborate with wait staff by setting up tables and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils, decorations, and napkins.
* Deliver food orders to guest’s tables in a timely manner and while food is still hot.
Communicate with host/waitstaff about orders.
* Prior to delivering food pay specific attention to allergies and special requests.
* Uphold our food health safety and sanitation principles.
* Occasionally check on customers to handle any impromptu requests or issues.
* Remove dirty dishes from tables and clear area ensuring cleanliness for next guest/s.
* Tracking cooking times on all food orders and checking them for plate presentation, and appearance.
* Assist host/wait staff as needed to improve the dining experience of guests.
* Performing all job duties while complying to all food health safety and sanitation guidelines.
* Completing cleaning/sanitizing duties correctly throughout each shift and performing back of the house duties.
* Performing all side work in the front and back of the restaurant as scheduled or assigned by the management.
* Ensure quality/cleanliness of facility.
* Assist with setup, cleanup, stock work and handling of food items.
* Work with team members to deliver efficient service while simultaneously providing exceptional customer service.
_Required Skills/Abilities: _
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to speak and read English is required (second language a plus).
Ability to speak effectively with external customers is required.
* Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, scanners, etc.
* Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
* Experience entering orders into a Point-Of-Sales (POS) system and manually is preferred.
_Education and Experience:_
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* A food handler’s certificate as required by local and state regulations.
* Successful completion of on-the-job training.
* One-year experience working in a restaurant preferred.
* _Physical Requirements: _
* Prolonged periods standing and working with equipment.
* Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds at times.
* Will need to work holidays.
* Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
* Reach and grasp objects (including above head and below waistline)
* Cleaning tables, floors, and other areas of the Restaurant.
