Facility Maintenance Technician performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service requirements, quality and safety standards.
Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.
Being a Facility Maintenance Technician assists with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials within the facility.
Utilizes a work order system to log activities as required by the company.
Additionally, Facility Maintenance Technician works with or assists trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Typically reports to a supervisor.
The facility Maintenance Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
Possesses a very good understanding of general aspects of the job.
May require a minimum of 5 years of general work experience.

General Duties: Collaborate with team members, solve complex problems, make informed decisions and ensure the accuracy and quality of work within his areas of expertise.
Team Support: The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for identifying and eliminating abnormal conditions that prevent the building and facilities from compliance with safety, food safety, general appearance, adhere to city and local codes.
Some minor mechanical adjustments may be necessary; the task will be assigned to you according to your skills and knowledge of the job, always taking care of your safety and that of others, as well as the quality of the end result.
The building maintenance technician is also responsible for instructing or knowledge in the manager and the maintenance coordinator when he is not able to resolve a particular issue to get support and/or assistant from other team members or the manager.
Give support to other team members when required.
Performed first line of building troubleshooting before we look for outside sources.
Give full support to the GMP walk findings, putting special attention to safety and food safety findings.
If you are ask to fix something that is out of your knowledge, please contact your Manager or Supervisor for the proper training and/or SOP.
You may be needed to perform adjustments to machinery when needed.
If there are major problems occurring, report immediately to supervisor and maintenance coordinator for immediate assistance.
Continuously checks buildings and grounds to see if they meet required standards and immediately addresses all deficiencies found.
If you cannot, you need to contact the Manager, Supervisor or maintenance coordinator.
Perform routine inspections of manufacturing facilities.
Weekly clean dust collectors.
Flexible to schedule changes.
Identify improvements and support any continuous improvement project.
Support Maintenance team on Problem solving and equipment troubleshooting.
Equipment Operation: Troubleshoot and resolve basic to complex building needs.
Support other team members on equipment repairs as needed to ensure equipment is functioning as expected.
Continuously inspect building and grounds to ensure they meet required standards.
As needed, immediately addresses all deficiencies found, Reporting: Be familiar with all the documentation required to perform the operation and complete all required documentation as need.
Sanitation: Support the company’s sanitation program.
Disassembly, sanitizing and reassembly of all food processing facilities and other cleaning and sanitary needs in a safe and efficient manner.
Must keep all work areas in an orderly condition, performing any combination of duties, such as sweeping, moping, scrubbing, vacuuming, washing, and wiping.
Uses Food Safety Work Practices ensuring no product is contaminated as consequences of conducting duties of this position.

Adhere to quality standards to ensure product quality and Food Safety by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP s), standard operating procedures (SOP s) Attends Food Safety/Quality training sessions.
Assist in cleaning and maintaining respective work area and other areas of the production facility.
SAFETY ACTIVITIES Before starting your regular work, search your working area 360 degrees for any unsafe condition, report to your direct lead or supervisor.
Follow safety procedures, PPEs, food safety standards and company policies.
Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITY Raven: (If Applicable) Ensure Raven (production performance application) data enter is accurate on a timely basis.
OTHER DUTIES The technical leader will execute the activities of an operator and/or a packer when required by the operation.
Assist in various areas when necessary.

Participate in other maintenance projects as needed.
QUALIFICATION -Knowledge Skill and Abilities (KSAs) General Qualifications: Must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines given by the Manager and/or Supervisor, maintenance coordinator or maintenance lead.
Must demonstrate to follow the Yamamotoyama safety rules.
Knowledge Be able to accurately calculate quantities and/or sizes when ordering construction materials using measuring tools and calculator.
Knowledge of safe use of power tools.
Knowledge of proper use of PPE.
Knowledge and understanding of proper use of volt/ohm/meter(VOM) Knowledge of safe and proper use of hand tools.
Skills Communicates (verbally and written) with a high level of professionalism.
Assists identify and resolve building issues in a timely manner (Irrigation, plumbing, electrical, sewer, building grounds, HVAC, roof leaks, GMP corrections, etc.
).
Must have excellent organization.
This position requires being detail oriented, must be concern on keeping or making our building well maintained.
Abilities Must be able to lift 50lbs, all items that are >50lbs or that require lifting must be done properly and with the assistance of another employee if needed.
Bilingual-English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Able to work both independently and within a team environment.
Work within established organizational policies and regulations.
Work safely without endangering self or others.
PHYSICAL JOB AND WORKING CONDITIONS Working Conditions Warehouse environment: due to materials used, there is exposure to dusty materials; utilization of standard warehouse equipment which includes forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
As needed, employees must be able to use both hands to properly inspect and pack finished goods.
Usage of hands will be constant.
Up to 2 hours of continuous use of hands may be needed and then employee will have to take mandatory work breaks and resume duties as a packer after break requirement has been fulfilled.
Employees will be required to do frequent bending and stooping to properly stack finished goods onto pallets.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
At times, employees will be subject to extended standing.
