*Job Purpose:* You will play a pivotal role in streamlining the assembly and fabrication drawing processes, along with managing mechanical bill of materials.
The primary focus will be to facilitate the transition of our product lines from 2D AutoCAD (ACAD) design to an integrated 3D design using Autodesk Inventor.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Ensure the precision and accuracy of mechanical packages to obtain customer approval.
* Lead the creation of assembly and fabrication drawings in compliance with industry standards, specifications, and approved customer requirements.
* Oversee and manage the release of approved drawings to support production.
* Provide technical assistance to the production team during the assembly and fabrication processes as necessary.
* Collaborate with the team to generate mechanical bill of materials, ensuring timely and accurate data entry into the manufacturing database.
* Verify that projects align with field measurements and/or existing equipment requirements.
* Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
* Fulfill all responsibilities assigned by immediate supervisors or management.
* Contribute to the achievement of company objectives and foster team cohesion.
*Qualifications:*
*Education:*
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a focus on UL891 switchboards, UL1558 switchgear mechanical design.
* Non-degreed engineers must demonstrate an equivalent combination of education, training, and verifiable experience.
*Experience:*
* Extensive experience in LV switchgear/switchboard (240V to 600V) design.
* Experience with MV switchgear (5KV to 38KV) design, including metal-clad and arc-resistant systems, is a valuable asset.
* Proficiency in designing non-segregated bus duct systems, electrical enclosures, relay racks/cabinets, sheet metal layout design, and bus bar layout design.
* Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion.
* Leadership and management experience is preferred.
* Knowledge of structural and seismic calculations.
* Familiarity with load interrupting switchgear design.
*Specialized Knowledge:*
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings with a strong work background in industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, UL, ASTM, IBC, CA Title 24, NEMA, MIL-STD, NEC, EUSERC, Utility Service Standards (ESR), and other standards related to switchgear systems.
*Skills:*
* Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, 3D AutoCAD, and Inventor.
* Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
* Exceptional communication skills, coupled with a collaborative team-oriented approach, maintaining a high level of organization, product quality, and cost control.
* Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
* Proficiency in visualization, mathematics, and computer skills.
