Compensation $90,000-$115,000 Job Summary Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of a Process Engineer is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of processes within the construction materials industry.
This is achieved by actively promoting and implementing robust safety protocols, leading the mine planning process, participating in reclamation projects, managing capital projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, utilizing software for quality assurance and process flow improvements, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis and process mapping.
The Process Engineer also serves as a key member of the United Rock leadership team, providing support in the absence of aggregate, reclamation, and sales managers, and actively contributing to business development and technological advancements.
Main Responsibilities Ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved in operations by strictly adhering to safety protocols.
Actively engage with crews to promote a strong safety program, including conducting MSHA and environmental inspections, providing training, and conducting site inspections.
Lead the month-end inventory process, including operating a drone and performing necessary calculations.
Obtain a Drone Pilot's license within the first 6 months of employment.
Manage the mine planning process for active sites using AutoCAD and mine planning software (such as Pix 4D and Carlson).
Contribute to reclamation project design and construction efforts.
Provide daily project management for capital projects, offering guidance and direction as needed.
Ensure compliance with SMARA regulations by leading the completion of the compliance action list and participating in inspections.
Develop plans and timelines for resolution.
Attend meetings with engineers and city officials to discuss pits and reclamation activities.
Utilize Stonemont software for quality assurance and process flow improvements.
Act as a backup for aggregate, reclamation, and sales managers within the United Rock leadership team when they are unavailable.
Participate in the implementation of technology and automation projects.
Map out and improve historic procedures within the business unit to enhance efficiency.
Manage the KPI (Key Performance Indicator) database to drive continuous improvement and ensure proper utilization.
Lead the implementation of Aggregate 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) practices at URP.
Attend industry conferences and seminars to stay updated on mining, aggregate production, and equipment advancements.
Participate in all URP management meetings, including weekly process meetings, monthly financial reviews, and quality control meetings.
Assist with business development, acquisitions, or green field sites as opportunities arise.
Ensure accurate daily production reports in Loadrite (or equivalent) and update Dashboards on a daily basis; prepare a monthly production report.
Assist plant and reclamation managers with leadership within the operations in a supervisory role assisting with: maintenance, plant scheduling, parts ordering, trouble shooting etc.

Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as geology, mining, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering.
