Position Summary: The Assistant Quality Control Manager is responsible for all activities involving quality control and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Responsible for supervising and managing the Quality Control function of the Company.
Conducts random sample audits and reviews, analyzes data and prepares documentation.
Evaluates and monitors the quality control in production to maintain and develop food quality to ensure product safety, customer specifications and BRC requirements are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for all quality control and facilities activities that ensure food safety, legality and quality in compliance with BRC requirements.
Coordinates, directs and supervises the QC department regarding the activities that need to be performed daily.
Supervises, develops, coaches, trains, disciplines and hires the QC techs.
Responsible for the quality control and third party Microbiology vendor.
Responsible for coordinating calibration of all QC equipment on a yearly basis.
Responsible in preparing and assigning work schedules, Oversees the Quality Control department in the absence of the QA Manager and reports directly to the CEO.

Assists in completing sales paper work when needed.
Generates, updates and maintains an accurate file on product formulas, specifications and manufacturing procedures.
Responsible to keep all product specifications updated.
Responsible to maintain and update Oversees the Raw Material Specification File, Letter of Guarantee and SDS Responsible for label approvals in Washington for new products along with the application.
Responsible Assists with investigation for consumer complaint files and generating weekly summary reports.
Responsible for approval of all product's USDA label s and formulas.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the nutritional database.
Responsible for all necessary regulatory approvals.
Responsible for changing, creating and updating new labels for products.
Fills in for Director of Quality Control in his/her absence.
Deputized Responsibilities:
Oversees the Quality Control department in the absence of the department manager.
Performance Requirements: Full time; Schedule may vary by departmental needs; May be required to on weekends, Strength demands: Includes occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force Frequent standing and walking; and the ability to bend, stoop, push/pull, reach and crouch Subject to work in noise level areas Ability to work in cold environment Occasionally (at least once a month) required to work during weekends and/or Holiday season.

Must have at least 4+ years prior experience in the field or in a familiar area.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.

Word, Excel and Outlook, etc.
) and Canopy Software.
Strong leadership, analytical, organizational and communication skills (i.
e.
oral and written) and the ability to work well with others.
Ability to lead Quality control department in absence of Quality Control Manager.
