Position Summary Our Quality Manager is tasked to ensure all company products meet consumer expectations and demands.
This position is responsible for monitoring the quality standards of the bicycles and its parts by examination of material for defects or deviations from specifications.
Specific daily duties for this position include overseeing employee performance and inspecting products to ensure conformity throughout the production process.
Where products fail to meet quality standards, the Quality Manager is responsible for discarding and rejecting the product and documenting why it failed to meet standards.
Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages and writing reports documenting production issues.
Summary of Key Objectives: Understand customer expectations and needs for a product Develop quality control processes Design product specifications Ensuring products are designed with adherence to legal and safety standards Supervise staff and monitoring production standards Examine the quality of raw materials that are used in production Monitor and evaluate internal production processes Evaluate the final output of products to determine their quality Reject products that fail quality standards Produce statistical reports on quality standards.
Report quality standard issues to upper management.
Evaluate product recalls Improve production efficiency and manage waste Collaborate with the global quality management team to set quality benchmarks Identify quality control processes to ensure criteria are met at all times Execute tests to check final product adherence to the company standards Brainstorm ideas and take action to increase productivity and performance of the production line while maintaining accuracy in quality Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data Work according to deadlines for the delivery of products Train and manage production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods Track products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct Perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards Eliminate products that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for product problems Inspect and test the bicycles and all materials used for the bicycles Read blueprints and specifications Remove all bicycles and materials that fail to meet specifications Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process Accept or reject finished items Education, Experience, and Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Requirements Minimum Education Requirements: Trade or Technical School (Certificate or Diploma) Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control function in manufacturing/automotive environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical capacity and understanding Quality control certification is advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Data analysis and statistical aptitude.
Good interpersonal skills.
Highly conscientious and diligent.
Ability to effectively communicate technical details Prior experience as a quality manager in a production processing environment Familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes Proficient in computer technology and systems Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications In-depth knowledge of market trends and conditions Strong leadership and management skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Able to positively influence others Great team player with strong interpersonal skills Work Environment Work is performed on the shop floor and production office environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
