Your Opportunity Stantec is looking for a highly motivated Senior Project Manager with municipal water / wastewater treatment or pipeline, and pump station experience.
The successful candidate will use his/her technical and project management capabilities to manage and supervise engineers and technical staff to ensure that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
You will lead a team of professionals in the design and construction of water and wastewater projects in various phases from conceptual planning, through design, construction, and start up ensuring reliability across all technical field represented and resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Additionally, you'll have client facing responsibilities working closely and meeting regularly with municipal officials, public, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions.
Your Key Responsibilities Manage design professionals and technicians Management of projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams Mentor and supervise staff and develop high-performing project teams Assist with business development pursuits including proposal preparation and participation in interviews Interact with clients and management regarding status of project scope, schedule, and budget Apply and share experience/knowledge of design expertise Lead and manage preparation of construction documents including plans and specifications and other contract documents Research and understand issues related to regulatory and other drivers that impact individual projects Ensure that projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner Write reports and design briefs to document analyses; and/or perform document peer review Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors Lead client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating Develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule Client communication, development and management Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
15-20 years of experience in Engineering, or equivalent experience Registered PE in the state of CA Experience managing municipal projects and technical staff Candidate must have technical writing abilities and ability to manage others Self-motivated with good work ethic are required Self-confidence and strong people skills are needed Experience working on engineering, planning, design and/or construction projects Good understanding of Central Coast market drivers, and relationships with local clients Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or the ability to acquire the PMP certification within 6 months Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): Salary Range(s): $166,600 - $258,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
