*Location*: City of Industry, CA
*Position*: Team Leader/Dryend Coach
*Pay*: $33.
96 - $40.
29/hr, based on experience
*Shift*: Primarily assigned M-F on 1st shift.
However, this job does require some OT and alternate shifts as needed.
Some travel including overnight travel may be needed.
Willing to come in during off hours and weekends as needed if and when safety and productivity is impacted.
Under the supervision of the Production Manager the *Team Leader/Dryend Coach* is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant manufacturing process, by leading and coaching team members.
Focus is on creating and maintaining a safe work environment, maintaining high quality standards, meeting productivity goals and complying with all government regulations and Sonoco policies.
*What you’ll be doing:*
* Trains and instructs crews in the performance of all duties in a safe manner.
* Facilitate customer feedback investigations utilizing basic SPS and quality tools.
Ensure all customer feedbacks are completed on-time, root cause is identified and implemented.
Assist in analyzing all customer feedbacks for trends and continuous improvement.
* Ensure that production schedules are met, with no sacrifice to quality standards, through efficient department operations and high productivity standards.
* Meet product cost objectives through maximum utilization of crew, machinery and materials, effective cost control and minimum inventory levels.
* Maintain inventory of machine supplies such as packaging materials, safety equipment, housekeeping materials, etc.
* Backfill for the Production Supervisor’s absence.
Which entails some crew supervision and scheduling, month end activities, etc.
* Instruct crew for maximum utilization and minimum downtime.
* Regularly reviews production data and uses data to correct problems, identify trends, and coach performance.
* Assists with production problems at any operation.
* Assists maintenance as necessary.
* Assists Safety Coordinator in meeting all safety objectives
* Assists in developing lead people and operators through proper coaching techniques
* Assists in plant production scheduling process
* Helps lead the quality program.
* Maintains good housekeeping in all work areas.
* Other essential duties as assigned
*We’d love to hear from you if:*
* You have 5 years paper mill experience and working knowledge of the various positions directed
* You have previous supervisory experience (preferred)
* Possesses strong coaching / teambuilding skills.
* Communicates effectively with all levels of the plant
* Proficient in Microsoft applications
* You have high school diploma or GED
