Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations will be responsible for manufacturing operations, facilities, production, and shipping/receiving.
The Director of Operations will oversee manufacturing operations, supervise the Operation Manager and Department Managers, and is responsible for effectively utilizing plant capacities and optimizing manufacturing costs and quality.
The role requires the ability to maintain flexibility, develop fluid plans, and understand the need to change priorities.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Assist with making decisions for operational activities and setting strategic goals.
Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of the manufacturing facility.
Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
Effectively implement, improve, and reinforce the company’s environmental and product safety programs in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Develop, coach and counsel department managers and supervisors to meet goals, objectives and instill company’s core values.
Demonstrate an adequate technical understanding of plant machinery, equipment and processing.
Significant interaction with existing customers; key role in meeting with potential customers to determine needs and discuss capabilities.
Assist with achieving goals for shipments, on-time delivery, past dues, inventory and sales.
Work closely with engineering, sales, and customers to ensure they can provide solutions and drive new business.
Drive continuous improvement by improving standards and processes in all phases of the operations cycle.
Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards, systems and processes.
Ensure the financial targets are achieved.
Oversee the work of direct reports, ensuring they are effectively producing quality work.
Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer quality standards.
The pay scale for this position ranges from $128,100.
00-185,000.

Qualifications
OTHER COMPETENCIES:
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and customers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Development software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineer, or related field.
Ten years related experience, or cumulative combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with management responsibility in a high-volume manufacturing environment with methods, processing and MRP exposure.
Must have Fasterners experience.
