About the Role
LexisNexis Canada is seeking to hire a Content Development Associate for legal research and writing within the Internal Legal Writing Team.
Reporting to the Manager, Legal Writing, this position will include the following key responsibilities:
Creating and updating secondary content for a variety of different products, including Halsbury’s Laws of Canada, other textbooks and loose-leaf titles
Completion of assignments within agreed upon timelines to ensure timely delivery of manuscript according to our publishing schedule;
Liaising with and incorporating notes and feedback from external authors
Reviewing page proofs and answering author queries from Editorial Operations
Answering content-related customer queries
Updating Practical Guidance documents in a wide range of practice areas
Other legal research and writing projects, as needed
What we are looking for in you:
Excellent legal research and writing skills and keen attention to detail;
A Canadian law degree, or a law degree from another jurisdiction with a Certificate of Qualification from Canada’s National Committee on Accreditation;
At least 1 year’s practice/articling experience;
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of cross-departmental project teams;
The following would be considered assets:
Extensive legal research and writing experience
Legal publishing experience
Experience in working in a remote team environment
