Summary of Job Description:
Under the oversight of a more experienced attorney, the Legal Due Diligence Associate Attorney (In Development) position contributes to the management of real estate transactions by participating in contract negotiations, administration, and project management activities for a wide variety of real estate due diligence transactions.
This position may participate in vendor relationship building and negotiations.
The Associate Attorney (In Development) helps manage and maintain the Legal Due Diligence databases and participates in the acquisition and/or maintenance of web-based Real Estate Legal applications.
You’ll get a chance to: Assist in managing real estate transactions within Legal Real Estate and RD under the oversight of a more experienced attorney.
Participate in contract negotiations, administration, and project management activities for a wide variety of due diligence real estate transactions and may occasionally include third-party consents/contracts.
Assist in building a real estate network involving ongoing interaction with real estate managers and brokers, construction managers, design managers, outside legal counsel, third-party business development parties, real estate attorneys, and department leaders.
Help build and sustain third-party real estate partnerships.
May manage and amend vendor agreements and vendor accounting and payment procedures, and create vendor cost summaries and reports.
Actively participates in Real Estate and Legal team meetings.
Prepare various ancillary agreements and documents for real estate pipeline projects to support the company’s growth strategies.
Assist with correspondence related to deliverables, contract changes, related expenses, and/or payments.
May assist with developing pre-negotiation strategy and position, such as determining the type of contract, and with conducting negotiations with selected parties.
Receive and analyze proposals and oversees technical evaluation with appropriate internal partners.
Recommend to more senior attorneys any modifications to real estate agreements to finalize real estate legal transactions.
Safeguard confidential information, prepare contract documents, and obtain required signatures; distribute contracts in collaboration with the company’s Real Estate Legal and Real Estate Development functions.
Participate in debriefings on the strengths, weaknesses, and risks of proposals.
Monitor contracts for potential problems and recommends ways to deal with any issues.
Help finalize contract terms in collaboration with Legal, Operations, and RD.
Help to manage and maintain the Legal Due Diligence contract management databases and participates in the acquisition and/or maintenance of web-based Real Estate Legal applications.
