I have a really nice McIntosh THX subwoofer, model HT-2.
It's a monster subwoofer with 2 heavy-duty LD/HP 12" down-firing woofers.
Just under 100 lbs.
, but surprisingly small visually.
Put two plants on it and call it a day.
It is a passive subwoofer - meaning it does NOT have an amplifier, and can't directly plug into a home theater receiver.
(I have an amplifier that would work with it - I can include it for an additional $120.
It's an NHT A1 amplifier, and it's an excellent amplifier though ideal for a room that's not enormous.
(Photos aren't mine, it's in the garage and it's heavy!) I also have an even more powerful subwoofer than this for $613 firm.
But bigger, and two pieces instead of one.
