Under the general direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor the qualified candidate will be responsible for performing analytical, chemical, and physical tests required for quality control of raw materials, in-process materials, finished goods and Finished product packaging and labels.
Actively be involved during the receiving stage of all raw ingredients and packaging by inputting all required information into the digital quality system(airtable) using a tablet or desktop computer.
Participates in investigations to determine cause, effect and corrective actions required to resolve deviation from quality standards, routine sampling, and inspection of ingredients and packaging.
The employee will adhere to safety procedures, ensure a safe work environment, meet and/or exceed product quality expectations, and assist in achieving process reliability goals.
Candidate will serve as role model for food safety related practices and mentor to other employees.
Responsibilities:
Perform analytical testing of all incoming raw ingredients, record, maintain, and review results/data into Airtable System
•Be willing to learn and use a variety of test methods, procedures, and instrumentation
•Required to calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot quality testing equipment as needed
•Initiate & document non-conformance's including participating in cross-functional root cause analysis.
Facilitate follow up & resolutions.
•Prepare samples of raw materials, intermediates, and/or finished goods to be sent out for outside testing Including environmental testing
•Perform COA verification and raw material sampling
•Samples raw ingredients and packaging materials as they enter the plant and within the facility
•Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Processes.
•Provide support to R&D for first production runs and trials.
•Validate all sanitation procedures and ensure Environmental Monitoring procedures are adequately in place.
•Responsible for assisting in Integrated Pest Management System by tracking fumigated product and reporting on pest issues in warehouse
•Monitor effectiveness of Master Cleaning Sanitation Schedule, cleaning procedures, chemical usage, and chemical safety.
•Review and approve all product label and packaging for regulatory and claim compliance.
•Responsible for completing all assigned internal inspections on time and accurately.
•Responsible for completing/and reporting on Post/Op inspections on time and thoroughly
•Must communicate all deviations and findings to the Quality Supervisor as soon as possible
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Quality Control in Spice Industry: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a QC role, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Computer Programs: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Chrome (web browser), Adobe Reader
Knowledge of spice quality standards, regulations and GMPs.

Knowledge of SQF Compliance (Preferred)
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to analyze, problem solve, multi-task and follow-up.
