*Position Overview:* As a Pastry Chef at Chado Tea Room, you will play a crucial role in our culinary team, responsible for crafting delicious pastries and desserts to complement our tea offerings through recipe development, bakery and pastry production, and program management.

*Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):* Pastry Development, Preparation, and Production: * Carefully develop a baking/pastry program for Chado Tea Room including tested and brand-relevant recipes.
* Skillfully prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries baked goods to ensure quality product for the tearoom and any events.
* Ensure precise measurements and adherence to recipe specifications to maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.
* Creatively experiment with flavors, textures, and presentation to develop new and innovative pastry offerings that delight customers.
Ingredient Management and Inventory Control: * Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support daily operations.
* Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies as needed to prevent shortages and wastage.
* Properly store and label ingredients to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
Kitchen Organization and Cleanliness: * Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, following sanitation guidelines and best practices to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.
* Properly clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work surfaces after each use to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illness.
* Dispose of kitchen waste properly and assist with general kitchen cleaning duties as needed to maintain cleanliness and orderliness.
Adherence to Policies and Regulations: * Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety.
* Follow established procedures and protocols for pastry production, storage, and service, maintaining integrity and consistency in all aspects of pastry operations.
* Complete required documentation and record-keeping accurately and promptly, providing documentation as needed for audits and inspections.
Qualifications and Skills: * Minimum 2 years of experience as a pastry chef/cook or baker.
* Strong passion for pastry arts and a creative approach to dessert-making and production of baked goods.
* Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Essential Functions and Abilities: * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in using computers and common software applications.
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy supplies or materials.
