La Monarca Bakery & Cafe in Whittier, CA is looking for shift leaders to join our team.

Shift Leader Job Brief: The role of a Shift Leader at La Monarca Bakery is to support the management team in the implementation and execution of plans to achieve company sales goals by optimizing the resources provided by the company.
A Shift Leader is responsible for organizing daily operations.
MANAGEMENT TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1.
STORE PERFORMANCE & SALES: Provide Guest with Excellent Customer Service & Hospitality Understanding Profit & Loss/Sales Metrics: i.
Increase Sales by implementing action plan: upselling, promoting company initiatives, executing marketing roll outs.
ii.
Controlling Labor through scheduling.
Supporting management team in ensuring that schedules meet daily sales & follow proper planning and organization.
Shift leaders are expected to be involved in the decision-making of schedule reduction and in aiding schedule coverage when needed.
iii.
Controlling Expenses/Purchasing Costs (COGS).
Shift Leaders support management in ensuring an accurate inventory count and understanding ordering guidelines based on PARS.
* PLANNING AND ORGANIZING: Must participate in the execution of the stores action plan and performance by providing clear direction to the team following management direction and the company’s vision.
Prioritize operations: FIRST: Guest, SECOND: store presentation- full & abundant displays, THIRD: daily tasks & specific deep cleaning assignments.
Maintaining store presentation, following company standards and procedures to ensure a safe work environment¸ ensuring cleanliness and sanitation best practices.
Support in properly storing confidential company materials - technical, HR, and employee files.
* ACCOUNTABILITY: Assist with communicating and educating staff on store goals, and setting expectations.
Ensuring daily follow up and follow through, especially cash handling standards & procedures.
Conducting shift meetings to discuss daily/weekly financial goals with team leading to the execution of the stores action plan.
Advocate for company: by maintaining legible, accurate, up-to-date files and records, including financial procedures.
* STAFFING & TRAINING: Communicating to Management any on-going staffing concerns including but not limited to: Hiring & Firing, Quality Training & Re-training, Coaching and Development, Scheduling for staff & attendance concerns.
Must participate in supporting management in training new staff and in resolving concerns.
Must provide support to management when addressing concerns related to performance with staff.
Must provide clear delegation, honest & transparent communication based on professional & constructive criticism to team in order to improve efficiency & productivity.
Provide feedback to management regarding performance of staff, support management with employee communications, and following through with company policies and procedures.
* LEADERSHIP: Demonstrate daily initiative, high energy, and sense of urgency.
Support your team, follow directions from management, and demonstrate leadership characteristics by inspiring & motivating staff.
Build a positive work environment.
* EVALUATING AND COACHING: Provide feedback using company documents in order to contribute to the evaluation of staff based on daily/consistent performance and overall contribution to the organization.
Ensure standards of conduct are followed and address any concerns with management team using coaching tools provided: company approved accountability and employee communication methods.
REQUIREMENTS: Professional Demeanor Basic Mathematical Skills MS Word Excel Power-point Knowledge Willingness to adapt Consistent Attendance & Positive Attitude Cash handling experience Ability to communicate effectively Ability to train team members effectively Hospitality food service experience Food Handlers Certification Ability to solve problems Must be able to work independently Flexible schedule based on store and company needs Ability to read, write, and interpret financial reports We are looking forward to reading your application.
