Lead Kennel Attendant

Priceless Pet Rescue in Claremont is looking for a Lead Kennel Attendant to take care of our rescue pups and ensure their clean living spaces.
This shift will be from 7:30AM-11:30AM.
Shifts are available every morning.
Reporting directly to the Adoption Manager(s).
Duties of the Lead Kennel Attendant are as follows.
* Ensure that each dog has been walked, fed and medicated as needed, before the end of each shift.
* Sanitizes/disinfects dog enclosures, kennels, sink, floors and laundry areas during every shift.
* Monitors and accurately charts consumption, elimination and overall health of each dog; brings concerns to the adoption managers.
* Consistently checks for safety and well-being of dogs and volunteers.
* Performs daily laundering of pet bedding and towels; disposes of linens and beds that have become too dirty.
* Supervising and giving direction to volunteers with a range of experience (IE some need more direction than others).
* Walking/handling dogs that have behavioral issues and need special attention.
* Cultivating and maintaining a good working relationship with volunteers to ensure adequate help during shifts.
*REQUIREMENTS:* _*Expertise & Experience:*_ * Experience with walking strong dogs required.
* Professional animal care/kennel experience preferred.
* Experience cleaning and sanitizing animal care facilities preferred _*Physical:*_ * Must be able to work mornings and some evenings, weekends and holidays.
(The dogs don't take a break, so we can't either.
) * Must able to frequently lift 30 pounds.
* Must be able to be on feet 3 hours each shift.
* Must be able to stand, walk and bend frequently.
* Must be comfortable with walking dogs of all sizes and energy levels.
* Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract Pay: $15.
