The daily operational activities of their assigned equipment which includes ensuring Product and WIPs are manufactured with the highest quality in a safe and timely manner.
The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction with a high level of safety.
Machine Operator 1 is a level entry position and must have a basic knowledge of the correspondent area equipment and processes.
Machine operators are responsible for the production of their corresponding department/area products or WIPS.
They use a variety of equipment to combine materials into WIPs and/or finished goods which are then packaged and shipped out to customers.

GENERAL DUTIES: Ensure overall safe and proper operation of assigned machine and/or production lines, maintaining all food safety and quality processes, adjusting the machines to optimum settings, obtaining minimal downtime, and fewest rejects with efficient output.
Machine Operation: Clean operate and monitor equipment for the production line.
Make basic equipment adjustments as needed to ensure the equipment is functioning as expected.
Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
Continuously checks products to ensure the product produced meets required standards and immediately addresses all deficiencies found.
Start Up, Changeover and Production Period Ending Performance: For the equipment assigned, ensure start up, changeover and end of the production period are done efficiently following procedures for sanitation cleaning and product changeover.
Employees must produce products and/or Work In Progress (WIP) based on the daily production schedule created by the Planning department.
Reporting: Filled out and verified all the documentation required to perform the operation.
Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks and submit daily QA and production forms.
Packing: Operate as packer and/or packing operator as directed by direct lead or supervisor.
Sanitation: Follow the company’s sanitation program.
Disassembly, sanitizing and reassembly of all food processing facilities and other cleaning and sanitary needs in a safe and efficient manner.
Must keep all work areas in an orderly condition, performing any combination of duties, such as sweeping, moping, scrubbing, vacuuming, washing, and wiping.
Uses Food Safety Work Practices ensuring no product is contaminated as consequences of conducting duties of this position.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with coworkers and Sr.
leads concerning mutual problems.
Discuss with the Direct Supervisor or/Manager any concerns that impact your performance.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONSHIP Assure co-workers and upper management are always treated in a professional and respectful manner.

Support each other in attaining company goals.
FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY Ensure WIPs and Finished goods are made with the highest quality in a timely manner.
Report on quality defect issues and help determine necessary corrective actions to eliminate repetitive failures.
Adhere to quality standards to ensure product quality and Food Safety by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP s), standard operating procedures (SOP s) Attends Food Safety/Quality training sessions.
Assist in cleaning and maintaining respective work areas and other areas of the production facility.
SAFETY ACTIVITIES Before starting your regular work, search your working area 360 degrees for any unsafe condition, report to your direct lead or supervisor.
Follow safety procedures, PPEs, food safety standards and company policies.
Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITY Raven: (If Applicable) Ensure Raven (production performance application) data enter is accurate on a timely basis.
OTHER DUTIES Assist in various areas of the production line when necessary.
Participate in Fiscal Year End Inventory count as needed.
QUALIFICATION -Knowledge Skill and Abilities (KSAs) General Qualifications: Must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines given by the Area-Production Supervisor.
Must demonstrate to follow the Yamamotoyama safety rules.
High School Diploma Preferred Knowledge Be able to accurately complete quality control forms and use a calculator to assist in tabulation of product.
Skills Communicates (verbally and written) with a high level of professionalism.
Assists identify and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
Must have excellent organization.
Abilities Employees must be able to lift 25 lbs.
All items that >50 lbs.
lifting is required, it must be done properly and with the assistance of another employee if needed.
Able to work both independently and within a team environment.
Work within established organizational policies and regulations.
Work safely without endangering self or others.
**The hourly wage for this position is $16.
50 per hour.
PHYSICAL JOB AND WORKING CONDITIONS Working Conditions As needed, employees must be able to use both hands to properly inspect and pack finished goods.
Usage of hands will be constant.
