RECRUITMENT TYPEOPEN - anyone may apply.
Currently, the District has 5 vacancies varying in hours from 6:00 am - 8:00 am or 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm, 9 months per school year.
The eligibility list being established will be used to fill the current vacancies, hire substitutes, and fill future vacancies that may occur within one year.
The examination process consists of supplemental questions within the application, a job-related written examination, and a qualification appraisal interview, followed by a selection interview for candidates in the top three ranks.
BASIC POSITION INFORMATIONUnder the direction of the Enrichment Program Site Supervisor, assist in the supervision of children, assist them with homework assignments, and instruct them in a variety of play, craft, and game activities; perform child care support and follow-up activities for elementary and intermediate school children in an Extended Day Enrichment Program before and after school hours.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSThe Youth Leader Before/After School Program provides before and after-school childcare to district and local K-12 community students.
Incumbents assist in the planning of individual and group activities to stimulate and reinforce learning, according to the ages and needs of the children.
Positions in this classification do not provide instructional support in a K-12 classroom and do not fall under the provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002.

Participate and lead small groups in games, crafts, and team sports activities.
EProvide appropriate social skills to children; monitor and evaluate behavior; discipline when necessary using a variety of behavioral shaping techniques.
EConduct story time, cooking, and singing activities for children; conduct rest periods for students as appropriate.
EAdminister routine first aid and seek assistance for serious illness or injury situations when necessary; observe and report the health needs of students.
E Assist in maintaining simple records and reports including attendance and parent payments according to approved procedures.
EMaintain confidentiality of pupil and school information.
EPerform light housekeeping and maintain the center in a safe, sanitary, and orderly condition.
E Assist children with homework; assist with various educational activities including computers.
EInspect and review game activity areas and equipment to assure that the play and game activities are conducted in a safe environment.
EAssist in implementing and supervising a planned daily schedule of activities for children; assist children with a variety of activities.
EMay collect monies from students as a result of fundraisers.
May administer medication under specific guidelines.
Interact with parents and others; explain programs and procedures as necessary.
May distribute simple meals and/or snacks for students.
May assist individuals or small groups of students to reinforce learning activities.
Display children's work on walls and bulletin boards.
Perform related duties as assigned.
