Title: Bookkeeper Location: Pasadena (91105) Firm Profile: Hunt Design is a graphic design consulting firm specializing in wayfinding design, signage systems, environmental graphics and exhibit design for public spaces, parks, museums, attractions, retail projects, entertainment centers, hospitality and multi-use developments.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Proficiency in Mac operating systems, Word, Excel, and Google Docs BOOKKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and send invoices Accounts payable functions Bank reconciliation Maintain a general ledger Monitor company cash flow Process employees’ timesheets and provide hours to payroll service.
Remit payroll, income, sales and use taxes Monitor client accounts for late or non-payment Work closely with firm Principals and other designated employees to ensure accounting accuracy.
Collect information for auditing purposes Assist with tax preparation for company accountant Credit card reconciliations Management of receivables Management of the Empower account and funding the bi-weekly Cash Calls funding for 401(k) Yearly pension Census Annual workers comp audit Business licenses renewals ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinating Certificates of Insurance process for clients Annual filing with the Secretary of State.
Annual SBE (Small Business Enterprise) certification with State of California Annual Metro SBE certification Annual SAM certification Metro subcontractor monitoring report of payment compliance Successful candidates should possess many of the following qualities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Strong mathematical skills.
Ability to work in collaborative environment with a diverse group of coworkers.
Hours: 24 hours per week (schedule is flexible within limits of normal work hours) Work Location: In-person (with consideration of partial remote work after first 3 months) EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree (AA/AS) or equivalent; three to five years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Hunt Design’s office is on the second floor of a building that does not have an elevator and is not accessible for some persons with limited mobility.
