Job Description: Senior Tax Accountant (Telecommute) Target locations: Pasadena, CA #WEAREPARSONS and For 80 Years, We’ve Delivered a Better World.

What You Will Be Doing With US: Assist in implementing our corporate tax strategy Prepares quarterly and year-end US tax provision supporting workpapers under ASC 740 Prepares relevant workpapers and tax returns for federal and state tax obligations, ensuring compliance with current income tax laws Performs detailed analysis of book/tax differences and understands the technical merits of the book/tax difference Ensure our compliance with federal, state, local and foreign tax laws while focusing on tax returns, audits and analysis Administer to our tax affairs and to provide technical/business guidance to others in our tax organization as needed Communicates with tax officials to receive favorable resolution of tax issues/audits Prepares and assists with negotiating claims for tax refunds Proactively updates and maintains the tax calendar and access database to ensure accuracy and completeness Research current literature, recent court decisions, existing law and regulations, and proposed and actual changes in tax law and regulations; analyzes data and make recommendations to management for ways to reduce corporate tax liability and reduce tax costs Completes special projects combining analysis of tax laws and regulations with the preparation of tax calculations Prepares miscellaneous tax studies and assignments as required by Tax Management Assists with a variety of tax projects as they arise What We Need from You: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field 4 years of relevant experience implementing corporate tax strategy within a large, multinational corporation or reputable accounting firm.
Such experience should include preparation of Federal and state income taxes for a multi-state corporation Knowledge of tax accounting techniques and principles, as well as a thorough understanding of tax rules and regulations pertaining to assigned area of responsibility Detail oriented who takes ownership of tasks with excellent organizational and analytical skills Able to work as part of a team and under pressure, handle multiple tasks as once, and meet required deadlines Excellent written and oral communication skills Sense of urgency, quick learner with a positive "can do" attitude Excellent computer skills with high proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially with Excel Telecommute with minimum 20% ability and willingness to go into the Pasadena office Teleworker, however will report to the Pasadena office a minimum of 2 days a week during tax season or as needed These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have: CPA certification (not required, but a plus) Advanced Excel knowledge Proficiency with OneSource tax software Why Parsons?
