Our State & Local Tax (SALT) practice is comprised of over 100 professionals.
As the premier SALT provider in the West, we help clients compete and succeed by staying up-to-date on the ever-changing, complex state and local tax rules.

Responsibilities:
Assist with management of clients and their needs
Perform technical review of partnership and corporate state tax returns and work papers with attention to multistate tax issues such as apportionment, state modifications, state credits, nexus, method of filings, and flow-through taxation
Assist with various tax consulting projects including research and writing projects related to tax planning, nexus studies, voluntary disclosure applications, audit defense, and penalty abatement
Analyze taxpayer data and be able to identify opportunities for prospects and clients
Keep up to date on state and local tax law changes
Participate in business development activities as needed
Develop internal relationships within the firm and help grow external branding
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in accounting preferred
Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax or JD and/or LLM is a plus
CPA or licensed attorney preferred.
If not a CPA or licensed attorney, must meet educational requirements to obtain CPA or attorney license in state of employment upon hire
Minimum of 2 years of related tax experience required; public accounting experienced preferred
Previous experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues preferred
Previous experience performing multi-state tax compliance work preferred
Experience in state and local government revenue department preferred
Experience with state tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Creative problem solving and research skills
Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
Able to handle multiple priorities, tasks and simultaneous projects
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Willingness and ability to travel up to 35%

This is the typical range of pay for the position; however, actual pay may vary based on experience, skillset, and location.
This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
