Job Description:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, and compliance with financial regulations.
This role involves managing a small team, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, providing strategic financial insights to senior management and managing the day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing.
Responsibilities:
-Produce monthly financial reporting package and additional financial documents as requested to allow management to understand the state of the business
-Facilitate the completion of all audits
-Perform monthly and annual bank compliance reporting
-Manage operating bank account (in conjunction with management) by setting up and releasing payments, monitoring collections, and ensuring the account is reconciled daily
-Produce daily and weekly accounting reports including, but not limited to AR/AP aging, open sales orders/purchase orders, cash availability, any other ad hoc reporting as requested
-Supervise the staff accountant and review/post daily and monthly journal entries they prepare
-Assist management with financial decisions by producing budgets and forecasting
-Special projects and responsibilities assigned by management
-Work with HR on payroll processing for weekly and bi weekly payroll
Qualifications:
Organizational and analytical skills
Competency with QuickBooks, other accounting tools
Proficiency in Excel
Basic data entry skills
Good listening and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
Accounts Payable, including coding and entry of invoices.
Accounts Receivable and Billing, professional service billing experience a plus
Purchasing for Job/Customer equipment and materials
General ledger experience
Financial Statement analysis
Financial reporting experience
Have background and knowledge in DIR/certified payroll/training fund a plus
