FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS EXAMINER

Under the close supervision of the Financial Institutions Manager, the Financial Institutions Examiner (FIE) is responsible for participating in the examinations of State licensed banks conducted in accordance with the Uniform Financial Institutions Rating System and the California Financial Code.
The FIE may be assigned either as a team member or lead examiner and is responsible for reporting their conclusion memorandum of their assigned area or in a Report of Examination.
The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one Fulltime/Limited Term, Financial Institutions Examiner position in the Corporations and Financial Institutions Division.
The position is to be located in the Los Angeles office.
This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions within the next 180 days.
This appointment may be extended up to 24 months or may become permanent.

Working Conditions Los Angeles Location: The Los Angeles office is located in the heart of the downtown financial district within walking distance to restaurants, transit, multiple parking options.
This is a field position and involves regular travel.
Travel is done primarily by automobile.
However, on occasion travel to another region of the state could be required and air transportation and rental vehicle would be necessary.

The DFPI supervises the operations of state-licensed financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and money transmitters.
Additionally, the DFPI licenses and regulates a variety of financial service providers, including securities brokers and dealers, investment advisers, payday lenders and other consumer finance lenders.
