Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst Salary Range: $75K to $90K Annual Breeder’s Choice Pet Foods, LLC, is a leading innovator, marketer, and producer of quality branded and custom dog and cat foods.
Our office and plant are located in Irwindale, California.
We currently have a newly created Financial Analyst position at our Irwindale, CA office.
Working closely with the Corporate Controller, this role will be focused on analyzing and interpreting comprehensive financial and accounting data in support of business financial management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support master data item setup.
Support analytics and KPI report creation and monthly tracking and distribution.
Perform profitability, product, and financial analysis and reporting.
Support forecast/financial budgeting process and reporting.
Support the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes Prepaid expense tracking and reconciliation.
Rebates and promotions accrual, analysis, and reconciliation.
Prepare assigned account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Support AP and AR activities and ad-hoc projects as needed.
Drive efficiencies through continuous review and improvement of existing processes.
Ensure all financial deadlines are met.
Adhere to US GAAP and policies and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Experience working with various ERP designs for large enterprise organizations.
SAP/SAP Business One a plus.
Manufacturing and/or Consumer Products industry revenue cycle experience.
Experience in generating on-demand and scheduled reports for business analysis or management decisions.
Experience in account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
Exceptional analytical skills and strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and Sumifs.
Proactive, detail-oriented, organized, high sense of urgency, ability to multi-task, think creatively and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Able to handle high data volume analysis and multi-link file models.
Experience with report writers is a plus.
Ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems.
Ability to interact independently and with management at all levels.
Positive collaborator and independent worker.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Participate in ad-hoc projects as appropriate.
A self-starter with a strong work ethic, flexibility, high energy, and a can-do attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA/MBA a plus Accounting and financial analysis/planning: 2 - 3 years (Required) SAP/SAP Business One: 2 years (Preferred) Large Enterprise ERP System: 2 years (Required) Consumer Products/Food Industry: 2 years (Preferred) Manufacturing Industry: 2 years (Preferred) Expert proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (Required) Financial modeling: 2 - 3 years (Preferred) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
