Reporting to the Accounting Manager and under minimal supervision, the Senior Accounting Analyst II is responsible for a variety of moderate to advanced complex accounting, research and analytical functions.
The Senior Accounting Analyst II supports the implementation of new accounting standards, prepares financial reports in accordance with GAAP, and supports external audit and internal audit activities.
The position is an integral part of the Accounting and Finance Team, and functional responsibilities will include reconciliations, financial close, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
Salary range: $91,821.
60 to $106,500.
00 Annual commensurate with experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Oversee the maintenance of lease accounting database in support of Right of Use asset and liability calculations.
Review new leases and contracts for proper accounting treatment and review related journal entries.
Evaluate expenditures for capitalization and useful life, maintain fixed asset database and prepare fixed asset journal entries and account reconciliations.
Prepare compliance filings related to fixed assets – Welfare Exemption, Form 571, US Census Annual Capital Expenditures Survey.
Perform technical accounting research to ensure that transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Assist the Accounting Manager with the preparation of the monthly internal financial statements.
Review financial statements for unusual items to ensure transactions have been properly recorded, and document findings as appropriate.
Perform monthly budget to actuals variance analysis.
Assist with the coordination of annual audits and prepare required information, including schedules, financial statement footnotes and support.
Maintain accounting policies and procedure documentation inventory, ensuring documents are updated on a regular basis by the appropriate personnel.
Prepare selected account reconciliations as assigned.
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis, and other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Must be proficient in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, IF statements), Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Proficiency required in Oracle (Fusion) - all modules as required to perform job duties - within 90 days of full-time employment.

Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree (four-year college) in Accounting or Finance required.
A minimum of six years of accounting experience is required.
A combination of public accounting experience plus experience in an accounting department preparing financial statements and journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing trends is preferred.
Solid employment history with demonstrated competency and progressive increase in responsibilities.
Experience in non-profit environment including government grants and contracts is a plus.
Experience in ASC 842 lease accounting is a plus.
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances Active CPA license is required Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Critical Thinking - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret financial reports generated as part of regular job duties Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure In-depth understanding of GAAP Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required Knowledge of Oracle Fusion (Cloud) or similar ERP accounting software A positive, high energy, self-motivated style is highly desirable.
