We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and organization are essential.
You will be responsible for processing payroll, including calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.
You will also handle employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations.
Responsibilities
Process payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Calculate wages, deductions, and taxes, taking into account any changes or updates
Review and verify payroll data for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
Make changes to employee records for approved payroll changes such as compensation plan changes, transfer of positions, one time payments, and terminations
Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and tax deductions
Assist with updating and maintaining payroll records and employee information
Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations and reporting requirements
Prepare and distribute pay stubs or direct deposit advices to employees
Check and approve alerts in Paylocity
Assist any employee with password reset, tax questions, new hire questions, pay plans, and appropriate access
Add or remove employees in COBRA system
Fill out unemployment claim forms across various states and attend UI hearings
Supply paystubs, tax forms, etc.
to former employees upon request
Create various Excel excel spreadsheet reports for each dealership using payroll records (headcount, expense analysis, etc)
Process an mail yearly W-2's
Monitor and verify employee's available leave, including vacation hours
Any other duties as assigned
Requirements
Associate's degree in Accounting or relevant field preferred
5+ years of experience in payroll processing or related field
Former supervisor experience preferred
Knowledge of multi-state and federal payroll regulations and tax laws
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Experience with Paylocity is not required, but a huge plus
