SENIOR REVENUE ACCOUNTANT

PURPOSE
Responsible for processing deposits, balancing payments, and collection of outstanding amounts for all association products and events.
Processing incoming checks, credit cards and wires on a daily basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Responsible for revenue close process, including preparation of journal entries for revenue and deferred revenue
Manage revenue audits, including providing responses to audit exceptions
Actively participate in revenue to cash process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and enhance revenue system capabilities.
Collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders to align on downstream impacts, controls, and reporting needs for accounting close for areas including but not limited to non-standard transactions and new product offerings
Apply knowledge of non-standard transactions and new product offerings, documenting analysis and conclusions on the technical accounting impacts.
Collaborate with the Director of Accounting team on complex issues.
Stay informed on changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Perform periodic and ad hoc revenue reconciliations and account analyses
Provide assistance and support with ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Director of Accounting.
Interfaces with all levels of staff.
Interfaces with association members and exhibitors.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
5+ years' experience in a relevant accounting role.
Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
