JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, performs assigned cashier and some accounting duties to assure that all residents’ business matters, i.
e.
, pension/social security checks, bank statements, cash transactions to/from resident’s Home accounts, etc.
, are being handled accurately, on a timely basis and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Process Accounts Payable in Covina.
Communicates to Accounting Manager all problems and concerns relating to resident accounting and Accounts Payable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.
Responsible for all aspect of Residents Accounting including:
· Understanding the Resident Accounting and Accounts Payable processes
Receiving check requests from residents; collecting and updating their Trust Fund Account
Distributing residents’ Monthly Statements for 1st/3rd Billing and Trust Fund
Setting up A/R Direct Payments
Inputting transactions into the AOD to record deposits, withdrawals for the resident account including monthly allowances, birthday and Christmas and other ancillary charges
Distributing monthly allowance to residents in accordance with the established schedule, policies, and procedures
Providing Banking Services 4 days a week, 2 hours a day to meet the needs of independent and assisted living residents.
Schedules may be changed from time to time especially during pandemic
Posting 25% of B-Resident’s monthly income to resident’s Home Accounts
Maintaining and reconciling a cash drawer on daily basis
· Maintaining a strict degree of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to A/R, Grand Lodge, and resident information received within the Accounting Department

Accounts Payable processing – Process Covina related invoices.

Assists with external audits relating to Trust Fund and Accounts Payable
4.
Cooperating with co-workers and establishing good working relationships with all departments.
Practicing team building and promoting good employee relationships in the department.

Assisting in posting all MHC-UC Credit Card Payments in MatrixCare
6.
Collecting all mails from Finance Mailbox for distribution to the Team Member inboxes
Performing other tasks assigned by Accounting Manager
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
· An intermediate level of skill and experience is required in operating a personal computer and performing computer operations relative to accounting
· Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing to management, staff personnel, residents and resident families.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities listed, typically:
· Minimum 1-year college course in Accounting related field or two years of experience in the following areas:
Accounts Payable
Cashier
Account Reconciliation
Accounts Receivable
Bank Reconciliation
Data Entry
Excel
Customer Service
