We are looking for a Staff Accountant to manage general accounting and financial processes of our company.
You’ll be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, performing account reconciliation or analysis and producing reports.
You will perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail.
You will also carry out relevant administrative duties (e.
g.
responding to clients via email and handling invoices).
Ultimately, you will ensure the company’s finances run smoothly.
*Responsibilities:*
* Maintain and update accounting records and files
* Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.
g.
by assets, liabilities and expenses)
* Reconcile bank statements
* Prepare documents for audits
* Create business invoices and request payment for services rendered.
* Handling payments in an organized and timely manner.
* Preparing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
* Process Accounts Payable invoices in line with business rules, including: Receiving invoices via email or mail and assessing for legibility and validity, matching invoice to Purchase Orders and Goods Receipt Note, comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
* Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
* Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.
* File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
* Assist with both AR and AP procedures as needed
* Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
* Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
* Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes.
*Requirements and Skills:*
* Similar experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting
* Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
* Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
* Confidentiality and integrity
* Degree in Accounting; MSc is a plus
