We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who is searching to do what they'll love - general Accounting! Do you have experience in GL entries and balance sheet reconciliation? The qualified professional has at least 3 years of Accounting experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept.
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA.
The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing monthly general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement variance analysis for Trader Joe’s affiliated companies.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for: · Prepare detailed schedules (booked and normalized expense) for certain Labor, Repairs & Maintenance, Supplies, Utilities, Security, Telephone, Postage expense and other miscellaneous expenses related to Trader Joe’s affiliate companies.
Provide explanations on large changes between booked and normalized expenses.
· Prepare various balance sheet reconciliations including accounts payable accruals, payroll and prepaid expenses.
· Provide analysis on fluctuations from month-over-month and year-over-year comparisons for certain income statement line items at Trader Joe’s affiliated company level and on a consolidated basis for warehousing and manufacturing.
· Record intercompany revenue/expense and reconcile based on agreed upon calculation between Trader Joe’s and affiliated companies.
· Run the MRP close process for manufacturing and work with team and our affiliated company to ensure raw materials pricing is set up accurately in SAP.
· Work with our affiliated company to accurately set up manufacturing standard costing in SAP and validation of new kitchen product.
· Assist in preparation of annual forecast for Trader Joe’s affiliate companies.
· Complete other projects and miscellaneous requests as assigned.
· Serve as a backup for other Crew Members on the accounting team.
· Good knowledge of US GAAP and accounting treatment · Strong analytical skills and ability to research issues · Excellent written, verbal, communications, and interpersonal skills · Advanced Microsoft Excel, formulas (pivot table, vlookup, etc), Microsoft Word and Office · Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting · 3-5 years relevant experience · SAP experience preferred but not required We want to hear from you!
