*Job title:* Accounting and Data Assistant

For over 46 years, the Women’s & Children’s Crisis Shelter has provided programs and services that form a critical continuum of response, healing, and prevention to survivors of domestic violence and their families.
To encourage survivor self-determination, services are delivered through an intersectional, strengths-based, and trauma-informed lens that aligns with our mission of commitment to provide safety shelter and hope to victims of domestic violence.
Accounting and Data Assistant responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design.
Accounting and Data Assistant will develop analysis and reporting capabilities for services and financial expenses.
They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*: · Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
· Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
· Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
· Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
· Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
· Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
· Locate and define new process improvement opportunities Represents the agency at assigned community meetings; and assures, maintains, and demonstrates professional behavior leadership.
· Must have great understanding of confidentiality and ethical conduct, have good writing skills, and be a self-starter as well as a team player.
· Develop ongoing referral relationships with health, legal and social service system.
· Maintains a written record of operations in a timely manner through client log, client files and client service activity sheets.
· Work directly with agency’s accounting vendor for finance reports and end-of-month data.
· Enter financial data into QuickBooks for monthly reporting.
Work closely with accountant to reconciliate accounts.
Record transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Match transactions on QB.
Run general ledger reports.
· Performs additional duties as requested by supervisor.
*Required Qualifications:* · BA/BS from accredited college and equivalent experience.
· State of California forty-hour Domestic Violence Training Certificate preferred.
· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
· Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques · Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.
), databases (SQL etc.
), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
· Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.
) · Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
· BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics Must exhibit flexibility, mature judgment, confidence, and competence.
· Good writing and communication skills.
· Must have current California Driver’s License, good driving record and current automobile insurance.
