We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who is searching to do what they'll love - general Accounting! Do you have experience in GL entries and balance sheet reconciliation? The qualified professional has at least 3 years of Accounting experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept.
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA.
The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing monthly general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement variance analysis for Trader Joe’s.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for: · Prepare accrual schedules for various expense accounts including IT, supplies, R&M, advertising and legal.
Provide explanations on large changes month-over-month.
· Prepare various balance sheet reconciliations including prepaid expenses and investments.
· Prepare monthly reconciliations related to bag fees and bottle deposits, including submitting required state filings and creating credit memos to vendors.
· Provide analysis on fluctuations from month-over-month and year-over-year comparisons for certain income statement line items for Trader Joe's company.
· Complete other projects and miscellaneous requests as assigned.
· Serve as a backup for other Crew Members on the accounting team.

Qualifications: · Good knowledge of US GAAP and accounting treatment · Strong analytical skills and ability to research issues · High attention to detail · Excellent written, verbal, communications, and interpersonal skills · Advanced Microsoft Excel, formulas (pivot table, vlookup, etc), Microsoft Word and Office · Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting · 3-5 years relevant experience · SAP experience preferred but not required We want to hear from you!
