JOB PURPOSE: The Investments Office is tasked with the stewardship of the College’s pooled assets, which provide vital financial support for the College’s operations.
As part of a small, close-knit team, the Senior Investment Analyst position provides the analyst an exciting opportunity to assume significant responsibility and gain hands-on experience managing an investment portfolio.
The position requires a challenging matrix of quantitative, qualitative, and administrative skills to complete tasks accurately and promptly.
The analyst’s core duties include conducting comprehensive analyses across the College’s public and private investment portfolios.
Additionally, the role supports operational functions essential in effectively managing the College's investment office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reporting to the Director of Investments, the Senior Investment Analyst performs the following duties and responsibilities: Support the investment function.
Conduct market research and perform due diligence procedures for new and existing investments.
This requires the analyst to have exceptional Excel skills and experience with fundamental market research.
Contribute to maintaining investment monitoring and reporting systems, which requires the analyst to have advanced computer literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to become proficient with unfamiliar software.
Analyze and monitor existing investments (e.
g.
, performance, portfolio positioning/exposure, compliance, cash flow, and liquidity).
This requires the analyst to know basic accounting, financial, and investment calculations and be fluent in computing them in Excel.
Assist with producing regular investment reports for distribution to the Investments Committee of the Board.
This requires the analyst to have good judgment, the ability to produce accurate work with a sense of urgency and experience creating charts and graphs for presentation in PowerPoint.
Assist with managing the Investments Office.
All team members support multiple functions of the Investments Office, which gives the Senior Analyst the unique opportunity to understand all aspects of managing the investment office.
The senior analyst is also required to contribute to various operational and administrative tasks to operate the Investments Office.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial analysis, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, business administration, or a related field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer an interest or participation in professional a development program, such as the CFA or CAIA designations.
Experience: At least 2 years of analytical experience.
Prefer experience at an institutional investor or investment bank but will consider candidates with strong analytical expertise and a demonstrated interest in investment management REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS: This position must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be able to successfully perform the functions of the job.

Experience reformatting data, identifying gaps, and combining multiple data sources into standardized analytical frameworks.
Advanced Excel experience, including data transformation, error-checking procedures, formula design, and pivot/array/scenario tables.
Prefer individuals with an intellectual curiosity for the mechanics of investment analysis.
Familiarity with investment calculations and asset classes.
Familiar with investment fund financial statements, including reconciling fund financial statements to investment performance calculations.
Knowledge of investment performance metrics, including the ability to calculate net cash flow, IRR, TVPI, and time-weighted returns in Excel.

ANNUAL SALARY: The annual salary for this role is between $85,000 and $92,000 with a competitive benefits package, including eligibility to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
