SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position will be responsible for various areas relating to financial reporting and month-end/year-end closing, including working with Fulgent’s independent registered public accounting firm to ensure that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (U.
S.
GAAP) and SEC Regulations.
This role will also participate in advising management on complex transactions from an accounting perspective.
This position requires significant interaction with individuals internal and external to the organization, including senior management, independent auditors, and other service providers.
This position requires the ability to research accounting guidance and interpret transactions in a clear and concise manner for multiple audiences.
This position also requires the ability to acquire and appropriately apply knowledge of the following accounting functions: General Ledger U.
S.
GAAP KEY JOB ELEMENTS: Responsible for areas in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing process and reporting.
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries.
Prepare fluctuations analysis for balance sheet accounts and income statements.
Review general ledger details for proper classification, cut-off, and completeness.
Consolidate financial statements including eliminating intercompany transactions.
Assist Financial Reporting Manager with preparation of forms to be filed with the SEC.
Perform technical and regulatory accounting research, and develop alternative approaches as deemed appropriate.
Interfaces with internal and external auditors regarding financial reporting issues.
Present recommendations/resolutions on various transactions across the organization.
Analyze and assist in implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting.
4+ years of progressive experience.
Accounting experience for public companies and big-four or mid-size accounting firms is required.
CPA is highly preferred with experience in public accounting and auditing.
Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
ABILITIES / SKILLS: Strong knowledge of U.
S.
GAAP.
Extensive experience in month-end closing either from preparation or auditing standpoint.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity to be able to adhere to regulations and total compliance.
Effective planning and organizational skills; results-oriented; and possess the ability to competently manage multiple priorities.
Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
Commitment to positive teamwork and a high level of attention to detail.
