Job Description
Position: Payment Processing Specialist
Program: Payment Processing
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time
Supervised by: Payment Processing Supervisor and Program Director
Vice President of Operations
General Purpose: Under the direction of the Payment Processing Supervisor, following established MAOF procedures the Payment Processing Specialist is responsible to ensure that all child care providers are paid accurately and promptly.
Responsibilities:
• Review Attendance Logs/Provider Payment Request (PPR) forms for accuracy;
• Review and calculate, as necessary, total hours and days of child care services authorized and utilized during the specified time period;
• Using contracted provider rates or RMR, accurately summarize total reimbursement owed to provider;
• Prepare a reimbursement voucher for check distribution to provider;
• Research provider reimbursement adjustment claims;
• File Provider Payment Requests (PPR) appropriately;
• Assist and train parents and providers on how to properly complete a PPR
• Provide quality customer service to all clients of MAOF;
• Complete all data entry as necessary for provider reimbursement download process;
• Retrieve archived provider payment documentation as requested for audit, fraud, compliance and other request as necessary;
• Assist the Payment Processing Supervisor meet required deadlines;
• Assist the program with investigations and resolutions of child care reimbursement concerns;
• Meet goals and performance standards as assigned;
• Retrieve and return all calls received at extension;
• Assist with incoming phone calls and messages;
• Regular attendance (Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM);
• Attend meetings, conference and workshops as assigned;
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent;
• Bilingual English and Spanish, preferred;
• Knowledge of data entry and word processing programs such as Word and Excel
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to accurately calculate;
• Must be detail oriented and have a high level of accuracy;
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize;
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
• Customer service oriented and pleasant phone manners;
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues/matters;
• Sensitivity and ability to work well with diverse social, ethnic religious and cultural groups and communities,
• Must have positive attitude with a desire to work with and promote the welfare of children and their families;
• Sincere commitment to provide quality service to the public.
Health Requirements:
Must meet State health requirements, including undergoing a physical examination at the time of employment, and must have verification of T.

clearance at the time of employment (issued within six months prior to employment to be renewed according to Agency Handbook requirements.
