The Financial/Budget Analyst II duties include high level reporting analysis of institutional budgets.
Review and analyze budget data, identifying gaps and finding data to answer key questions.
Monitor organizational spending to ensure that it is within budget.
This position is responsible for executing routine and non-routine financial operations to support the management.

Good computer skills necessary in order to set up document formats in Excel, Word, Banner accounting system, Internet, and e-mail.

Must have ability to reconcile and verify the accuracy of activities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines 3.

Required Qualifications 1.
Education: • Bachelor’s Degree required.
2.
Experience: • Experience with data modification required, must be highly proficient user of spreadsheets and databases.
• Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to research, formulate, and present analysis on a variety of financial issues.
Preferred Qualifications 1.
Education: • Finance concentration for Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
• MBA preferred.

Experience: • Two or more years in a complex organization preparing analysis and financial reports using statistical, cost, and financial data.

Provide analysis and participate in the preparation of budget related documents.

Assist with research and analysis of reports.
Percentage Of Time 30% Job Duty Support: 1.
Assist in the development of the annual budget proposal to the Board of Trustees.
Percentage Of Time 10% Job Duty Reconciliation: 1.
Periodic (monthly, quarterly, & year-end) reconciliation of budget accounts in the various colleges/departments.

Gathering and entering budget data.
3.
Reconciliation of budget operating and capital funds.
Percentage Of Time 10% Job Duty Policy and Procedures: 1.
Assists with the reviews and edits of the budget policies and procedures on a periodic basis.
2.
Maintains familiarity with the University’s accounting and budgeting policies and procedures.
3.
Conformity with generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting & standards, and compliance with federal and state regulations 4.
Demonstrate an understanding of how transactions impact the general ledger and the impact on the financial statements as well as the operating budget reports.
Percentage Of Time 10% Job Duty Processes: 1.
Serves as the back up for the coordination and process of personnel requests and personnel action forms for budget review.
2.
Maintains the security and passwords of the BudgetPak software.
Percentage Of Time 30% Job Duty Budget Transfers and Other Duties: 1.
Coordinates training for colleges/departments as needed to enhance understanding and management of the operating budget by campus personnel, including the training of end users on the budget transfers.
2.
Assists with budget transfers.
3.
Assists in monitoring of budget account balances and expenditures.
4.
Prepares budget transfers on request.
5.
Other duties as assigned.
