The Budget Analyst I will advise upper management in the creation, development, analysis, implementation, and adaptation of budgetary matters and financial management policy, including the high level reporting analysis of institutional financial plans and interpretation of various financial data as needed.
This position is an individual contributor role and will consult with the Budget Analyst II with respect to the fulfillment of duties.

Good computer skills necessary to set up document formats in Excel, Word, Banner accounting system, Internet, and e-mail.
Flexibility in job assignments a must.

Good mathematical skills, including the ability to operate a 10-key calculator.
Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments with accuracy.
Must have ability to reconcile and verify the accuracy of activities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
3.
Good verbal communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to effectively interact and assist with administration, faculty, and staff.
Required Qualifications 1.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
2.
Experience: Experience with data modification required, must be highly proficient user of spreadsheets and databases.
Must have a high level of accuracy.
Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to research, formulate, and present analysis on a variety of financial issues.
Preferred Qualifications 1.
Education: Bachelor’s in accounting or finance degree preferred.
MBA preferred.
2.
Experience: Two or more years in a complex organization preparing financial analysis and financial reports using statistical, cost, and financial data.
List comments regarding work hours 8 am to 5 pm, M-F May occasionally work outside of normal 40-hr work week during closing and reporting periods, including time sensitive projects.
