*SUMMARY:* The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the overall fiscal control of the organization, including, but not limited to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger journal entries and reconciliations.
The Senior Staff Accountant position is responsible for the reconciliation and presentation of the Company’s cash position at all times.
This position is vital in the production of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports that comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
The Senior Staff Accountant will assume a strategic and practical role in the accounting department that include day-to-day responsibilities of planning, management and analysis to ensure all financial data produced is done so accurately and timely.
This position works independently using their financial knowledge to complete monthly journal entries.

* Guides financial decisions by establishing and monitoring procedures related to all cash coming into or going out of the business.
* Tracks, monitors, and amortizes all capital leases across all locations and entities including following up on UCC filings when needed to avoid lien issues.
* Monitors and confirms financial condition by completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and providing information to management.
* In charge of tracking all fixed assets and keeping accurate records of depreciation.
* Works with outside CPA firm to complete yearly 571L audit to avoid any associated penalties.
* Works independently adhering to GAAP to post recurring month end journal entries, including, but not limited to pre-paid expense, payroll entries, and allocation entries.
* Reconciles the work done by Accounts Payable to ensure it is accurate and complete.
* Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances.
* Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Assists the Controller with schedules and support for the yearly and quarterly financials audits.
* Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
* Monitors employee credit card program to ensure compliance and correct approvals are occurring.
* Ensures compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures set forth by the Controller.
* Assists in development and implementation of policies/procedures to assure compliance with new regulatory standards affecting Accounting.
* Other duties as assigned by management.

* Ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction, while understanding and contributing to the success of the organization *QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:* *REQUIRED:* Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Healthcare Administration or equivalent, plus 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Advanced online Quickbooks required.
Experience with healthcare EHR/EMR systems.
Intermediate Excel skills required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
*DESIRABLE: *Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Healthcare Administration.
Considerable prior coursework or on-the-job training in ophthalmology.
Knowledge of Word, Access, PowerPoint and CareCloud.
*CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:* * CPA a plus *WORK ENVIRONMENT:* The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
* This is primarily a sedentary office classification but may require field visits and driving.
Temperature conditions are controlled with limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear.
The employee will frequently lift and/or carry reports, records and other materials that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch.
* Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and other standard office equipment.
