*SUMMARY*
Provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions.
Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
· Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general accounting, cost accounting, human resources, employee benefits, vehicle licensing, business licensing and operations etc.
· Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
· Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives
· Work with department managers and corporate staff
· Direct and coordinate company financial planning and management functions.
Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
· Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records
· Monitor and analyze monthly operating results
· Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
· Assure that assets are not encumbered with personal guarantees or unrealistic commitments
· Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource.
Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies
· Work closely with owner in the development and economic evaluation of various fringe benefit programs for staff
· Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies
· Ensure compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements
· Ensure compliance with union requirements
· Coordinate with CPA firm as needed for financial reporting and tax return filing
· Report to the owner, when necessary, in writing and verbally
· Supervise overall operations (including: safety, security, vehicle maintenance and building maintenance)
· Other duties as assigned
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY*
· Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the accounting and HR departments
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws
· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems

· Ensure that accounts payables are paid in a timely manner (trade and expense accounts)
· Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
· Ensure that accounts receivables are collected promptly
· Ensure that payroll is processed in a timely manner
· Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
· Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
· Ensure that all tax payments are made on a timely basis
· Maintain the chart of accounts and financial statement program
· Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
· Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
*Reporting*
· Issue timely and complete financial statements
· Provide financial analyses as needed
· Provide for a system of management cost reports (job reporting)
· Meet union reporting requirements timely
· Meet banking quarterly and annual reporting requirements
· Meet state and federal payroll tax reporting requirements timely (940, 941, DE9, DE9c)
· Meet quarterly state sales tax reporting and monthly prepayments
· Meet annual 401k form 5500 filing
· Monthly reporting of territory sales and commissions to owner
· Addition and deletion of fixed assets for reporting to auditors annually
· Annual 571L reporting for Los Angeles and San Diego counties
*Compliance*
· Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual review
· Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
· Workers’ compensation audits
· General and liability insurance audits
· Union audits
· Sales and use tax audits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.
00 - $120,000.
