*Purpose*
We are looking for a payroll specialist to process our company’s weekly payroll and to maintain the employee database regarding salary and pay.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for collecting and reviewing employee information such as working hours, calculating wages, and preparing and processing employee payments.
CPR responsibilities include all functions of properly calculating and paying Prevailing Wage for employees and apprentices.
Maintain Excel spreadsheets regarding ticket information.
Submitting all required reports to various agencies.
*Payroll*
* Prepare and process weekly payroll of 160 employees utilizing ADP Workforce Now (exempt and non-exempt).
* Process payroll transactions such as final checks, garnishments, direct deposits, stop payments ….
etc.
* Calculate wages, tax deductions, commissions, bonuses, complete verifications of employment and respond to government agencies requests.
* Collect timesheet data and payroll information, data entry of missed punches.
* Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
* Research, analyze and resolve all discrepancies / complaints relating to pay and hours including interacting with employees and apprentices.
* Communicate with ADP to resolve any issues on Workforce Now.
* Full cycle processing of apprentice paperwork and payment.
* Review prevailing wage tickets for hours worked, enter information into spreadsheet for tracking purposes.
* Completing and submitting reports such as EEO and CA Pay Data Report.
* Report to department managers regarding daily activities and issues.
* Prepare, analyze, and distribute payroll reports to Management and Accounting.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
This may include within or outside of your current department.
* Remains competent and current through self-directed development by researching, attending seminars or training courses as needed or directed.
* Maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations.
*CPR*
* Process prevailing wage Certified Payroll Reports (CPR’s).
* Upload all CPR’s into DIR, LCP Tracker, BCA, eMars, ecomply, OCIP and other websites or manually process as requested by the client.
CPR’s should be process within 2 weeks of ticket date.
Non Performance needs to be reported weekly.
* Responsible for completing required documentation for prevailing wage compliance.
* Troubleshoot any discrepancies, exceptions, payment hold, compliance issues, etc.
* Remains competent and current through self-directed development by researching, attending seminars or training courses as needed or directed.
*Requirements:*
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation such as tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance.
* At least 5 years experience in the payroll field.
