Accounting Manager

Phillips Draperies is the largest contractor of window covering for commercial buildings in Southern California.
We built a reputation for customer service and gained numerous loyal customers over the last 76 years.
Our projects range from custom draperies in movie theatres to furnishing window shades for entire downtown highrises.
Our current projects include a Frank Gehry designed residential tower and hotel, as well as numerous locations for Netflix, Amazon and Google.
We are seeking an accounting manager.
This position offers an opportunity for the right candidate to grow into a senior position in finance and operations.
Your responsibilities include: - Job costing and use tax reporting - Analyzing bids and sales data - Payroll Processing - Bank Reconciliation - Paying vendors on time - Generating management reports of sales and profitability - Help with Accounts Receivables - Month end and quarter tasks such as posting accruals - Time allowing, help with closeout packages - Other financial and accounting tasks as they come up You must have: - Experience with an accounting package such as Quickbooks, Peachtree or Sage - Understanding of accounting principles such as General Ledger accounts - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance - Aptitude to learn fast.
There is a lot of trade specific knowledge you would need to pick up - Excellent skills working with Excel, especially vlookup - Typing speed of at least 40 WPM - High comfort level working with new software applications - Quick and accurate with basic math such as addition and multiplication Nice to have: - Experience with construction or architecture Position is full time , M-F at our office in Pasadena.
