*Job Description – Accounting Assistant*
Accounting Assistant needed to work with the Senior Minister at Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living.
This is a part-time position (5 hours per week, doing weekly accounting tasks) paying bills, inputting payments, reconciling to banking records, and doing payroll in Quickbooks Online.
The day of the week worked is flexible (M-W), and the hours available on the day picked are from 10-6.
Sunday hours are also a possibility after training is complete.
Once hours are established, they need to be consistently adhered to.
A willingness to stay focused, follow the approved process, and be conscientious are key.
An ideal candidate is someone who is computer literate and can learn by using information on the Internet.
Accounting requires strict adherence to procedures, and we will train you on inputting into Quickbooks Online using our procedures.
This job is perfect for learning accounting skills to launch a career.
Pay will increase as your ability to work independently increases.
It is the ideal job for someone looking to supplement income or for a college student.
We do not expect candidates to be active congregation members, but they must be comfortable around our minister and congregation.

*Responsibilities*
· Work closely with the Senior Minister.
- Open mail and keep track of bills to be paid.
- Contact vendors and congregants as necessary.
- Collect timecards and process weekly payroll
- Pay bills while ensuring their bill is correct
- Reconcile Quickbooks to Bank Records
*Skills*
- Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (especially MS Word and Excel)
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers
- Ability to work within the Dropbox filing system
- Ability to research methodologies on the Internet
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Process-oriented methodologies
- Computer-oriented filing skills (minimizing paper usage and storage)
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Timeliness
- Easy-going attitude with a good level of confidence
- Good money-handling skills in your own life
- Accounting skills are a plus but not necessary since we will train you
· High School degree; additional qualification as an Administrative Assistant or Secretary will be a plus
