THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Controller / Accounting Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with Program Managers/Directors:
Prepare program budgets and modifications for funding entities.
Reconcile budget to actual monthly financial results.
Analyze program revenue and expenses.
Prepare revenue & expense forecasts.
Prepare program cost & close-out reports for funding entities.
Submit miscellaneous financial reports as needed to comply with contract requirements for funding entities.
Support contract proposals with financial information as needed for funding entities.
Provide training and support to ensure contract fiscal compliance.
Prepare and submit monthly program invoices for funding entities.
Assist program billers with invoice preparation for funding entities.
Oversee Staff Accountant-Payroll:
Review and approve bi-monthly payroll.
Review and approve manual checks.
Review and post payroll journal entries (e.
g.
, salary/wages, benefits, workers compensation, and vacation accrual)
Review and post expense correction journal entries
Review monthly expense allocation tables.
Troubleshoot with Paycom technical support when needed.
Maintain records (e.
g.
, original signed contracts) and supporting documentation to comply with regulations.
Contribute to month/year-end closing process to ensure accurate and timely closing.
Lead user and coordinator of MIP and Microix for managing internal budget of departments and agency
Assist in financial audits by funding entities and CPA firm
Various projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager and Controller
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3 years of experience managing financial compliance for government contracts
Must have knowledge and understanding of multiple funding streams, including Medi-Cal
Highly proficient in MS Excel (i.
e.
pivot tables, lookups, formulas etc.
)
Knowledge of, and experience with financial/fund accounting and analysis, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Analytical skills, experience and good judgment to make business decisions within policies
Excellent interpersonal, team building and leadership skills
Strong work ethic, and a team player
