`*Job description* The Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure that all payments are accurately processed, recorded, and distributed.
This is a long term opportunity with a growing Chemical company in Monrovia, CA.
This position will be responsible for applying all corporate policies directly with vendors and other institutions.
They will prevent any misuse of corporate monies by confirming proper authorization of expenditures.
*Responsibilities:* - Process accounts payable invoices, after careful review of support documentation and proper GL coding - Ensure accurate and timely payments - Review and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies - Complete credit applications, verify vendors or institutions that will receive payments and complete new vendor set up in ERP system - Maintain accurate records and organize proper filing of all accounts payable transactions - Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations - Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any payment or invoice issues - Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures - Assist with the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable *Requirements:* - Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role - Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles - Proficient in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, or similar systems - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills *Skills:* - Technical accounting skills for account reconciliation and analysis - Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks or PeopleSoft - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment -Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management -Knowledge of General Ledger and shipping terms Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
