Position Overview:
Responsible for assisting in the analysis and maintenance of cost accounting systems.
Work closely with senior accountants and other finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and aid in making informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
Assist in analyzing production costs and identifying variances from standard costs.
Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements for review by senior team members.
Assist in Month End closing and reporting processes.
Inventory Management:
Collaborate with inventory control teams to ensure accurate valuation and tracking of inventory.
Assist in reconciling inventory records and cycle counting reconciliations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Support in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets and forecasts.
Assist in preparing budget vs.
actual variance analyses and related reports.
Process Assistance and Improvement:
Aid in streamlining cost accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Participate in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.
Compliance and Audit Support:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to cost accounting.
Maintain organized and accurate records of financial transactions and cost-related data.
Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits related to cost accounting procedures.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with various departments to gather and verify cost-related data.
Communicate effectively within the finance team and across departments to facilitate a smooth flow of financial information.
Required Skills and Qualities:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using MS Excel and financial management systems.
Attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
