JOB SUMMARY Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency.
This position reports to the Agency's VP of Accounting and is responsible for directing and managing all accounting functions of this large multiple entity agency in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards (GAAS) and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting reporting functions.
The position develops and enforces internal controls to protect and safeguard the Agency assets utilizing policies, procedures and workflows.
The Corporate Controller is also responsible for supervising staff assigned to the accounting functions and performing other duties as assigned by the VP of Accounting and the Chief Financial Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Directs, manages and is responsible for all fiscal period accounting (monthly, quarterly, and annual) close functions and related reporting for all Legal Entities.
Directs, manages and is responsible for best accounting practices of all accounting subsystems, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general accounting functions.
Directs and prepares all entity general ledger fiscal reports including financial statements and all supporting fiscal reports.
Directs, manages, coordinates and is responsible for all aspects of the entitiy's annual audit and preparation of the Agency’s annual financial report.
Additionally, directs and manages the fiscal audits of all funders' requirements.
Supervises, manages and directs the work of the organization's accounting staff.
Directs and coordinates activities of the Accounting department and assist the VP of Accounting in developing and administering fiscal organization policies and objectives consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAS) that enforce internal controls that maximize the protection of the Agency's assets.
Performs other responsibilities, as assigned, to support department and business needs by the VP of Accounting or CFO.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (B.

) in Accounting or Finance Master's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance.
Valid California Driver's license with two years experience driving and clean driving record may be required.
