Under the direction of the Controller, the Fiscal Monitor will perform a variety of fiscal and compliance auditing
functions and prepare written reports on findings.
This position will make recommendations and conduct training of
vendors and other contractors in fiscal record keeping models.
Specific duties will include field reviews of vendors
in order to verify source documents and services billed.
Other duties include conducting the monthly statistics
process, preparation of statistics reports; process and monitor consumer transfers, monitor consumer errors, process
deposits, process queries, provide support to community services department, and other related duties as deemed
appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and at least two years of increasingly responsible
accounting experience; one year of which must have included conducting audits of financial examinations.
A
professional accounting curriculum certificate program can be substituted for the degree requirement with three years
of responsible accounting experience and at least one year of which includes conducting audits or financial
examinations.
Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and procedures and their application.
Communicate
effectively.
Understand, interpret and apply state and federal regulations.
Effective time management skills, the
ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions.
Complete written and oral reports and establish working
relationships internally and externally.
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and have use of a personal
automobile for business.
